Acropora tenella

A threatened Indo-Pacific coral recorded by NOAA

“I live in the Coral Triangle, one of the richest seas for life on Earth. I live deep under the water, where the light is gentle. My thin branches spread out in many directions, making small spaces for sea animals to move, hide, and rest. I may look still, but I help the reef feel alive. In some places, I can still be found. But if the ocean changes too fast, fewer animals will come. Then the spaces around me will hold less life, and the sea will sound a little quieter.”
